Frequently asked questions about our edible cutlery, compostable disposable tableware, and reusable tableware.
Edible cutlery
Our products consist of a sustainable and natural blend of grains.
EATlery® cutlery retains its shape for 50–60 minutes in cold and frozen foods and for up to 50 minutes in hot foods.
As these are edible disposable products, we recommend using the spoons only once and then eating them.
Our EATlery® spoons and cookie cups are made from a natural blend of different grains. They are GMO-free (genetically modified organisms), kosher, and suitable for vegetarian, vegan, and halal diets.
The minimum shelf life of EATlery® spoons is currently 9 months, which we will soon be able to extend to 12 months.
Our edible products do not affect the taste of your food. The delicious flavor only develops when the spoon is eaten.
FRENVI stands for FRiendly ENVIronment. EATlery® is FRENVI’s first own brand and is a combination of EAT and Cutlery.
The products are currently manufactured under fair conditions in India, but from 2026 they will also be produced in Germany, specifically in Wiesloch Walldorf.
Since our cutlery products are made exclusively from natural and biodegradable ingredients, they can also be composted in your own garden. They decompose within 30 days.
Yes, in addition to developing edible disposable cutlery under the EATlery® brand and Cracker Plus made from upcycled barley fibers from the food and beverage industry, FRENVI is also researching other compostable solutions. Interesting research projects focusing on “upcycling” are already underway for our future products.
Compostable tableware
Our products are biodegradable and compost naturally, meaning they dissolve without leaving any residue within 30 days.

We have two different product variants: straws made from rice bran, available in various colors and sizes and straws made from dried coconut palm leaves.
The plates are made from 100% rice bran and can also be coated with a bio-based layer if required. Nevertheless, they can easily withstand normal liquids such as sauces or similar for long periods of time.
We recommend storing the products in a dry, ventilated room. The permissible room temperature should not exceed 28 degrees Celsius.
No. However, we recommend storing them in an airtight container after opening and using them within 14 days.
Reusable tableware
Our products are made from sustainable biocomposites consisting of responsibly sourced crop residues such as coffee husks, rice husks, rice straw, bamboo husks, and others.
REuse products contain up to 50% less plastic. Compared to ceramic or plastic cups, using 1,000 REuse cups results in a reduction of up to 1,800 kg of CO₂.
Yes, all REuse products can be recycled.
The REuse cups are highly stable and robust. They can withstand up to 3,000 wash cycles of a regular dish washer and are suitable for both cold and hot drinks.
